Philosophy Children are learning every second of every day, but they're also a lot smarter than we think. The Kids Music Underground was founded on the belief that children ought to be approached as equals. And that learning is more profound and longer-lasting if it's presented, or disguised, within a playful group dynamic. Never underestimate the power of Silly. Nor the sense of empowerment that comes from a child's personal involvement and connection (with their parent/caregiver) in the learning process. It's simply healthy to sing, dance, laugh, and play with your child, and other children and adults, on a regular basis. It feels good. That they are learning the basic fundamentals of a musical vocabulary - rhythm and melody, pitch and dynamics - as well as an active appreciation of different forms of music, is an added bonus.
